The Tarot by onyxiia-dragon The Tarot by onyxiia-dragon
I was playing with my tarot cards and liked a few shots I managed to capture. Just random and hopefully good. This is my favourite

Love the texture of the table/surface it's on, but I agree the cards should be more in focus (as they are the central theme of the photo). Great piece!

It's the Thoth deck, it's the only deck I have ever used :) It is a very beautiful deck in my opinion.

Why do people say such bad things about Tarot?

Not sure, but I got the effect I was after with this so am very happy with it, however all comments - both good and bad means I can choose to learn from it or ignore them :D

Thank you for liking my work though - it means a lot that you took the time to comment :)

I wish others would do the same for me. Yes, I've got deviations that have had HUNDREDS of comments, but there are still some that weren't commented on at all. :(

Very nice, though I could suggest using a tripod, and using Macro Mode for close-up shots like this. :)

(Macro mode is usually a picture of a flower next to a button or on a mode dial on your camera.)

Thanks Doppel.

I haven't got a tripod as yet - I am using things like books at the moment :) Effective for the time being.

I am also a very big fan of macro images - I have a few in my gallery - I just wish I could save the money for a proper macro lens...but that will be down the track :)

I think it would be a bit better if the card in the center was more focused. But I really like this picture and am slightly jealous of your cards. :)

Yeah I was having real trouble with focus with these pictures, just couldn't seem to get the camera steady long enough.... :( I liked the light on the card making just seem out of this world almost....if that makes sense.

The deck is just the Thoth deck, fairly common, but apparently hard for some people to read, yet it is the only deck that has ever "spoken" to me :) and I have quite a few different ones :)

Do you read at all?

I do, although admittedly not as much as I would like to practice divining. I just have some sort of generic deck (I can't remember what it's actually called right now). But I've really been wanting to get a newer deck though. I just need to find the one that seems right to me.

Oh, and for the focusing, it might just be a matter of adjusting the aperture. But I actually like the fact that the other cards are more in focus. But the lighting is really awesome.

Yeah I have far too many decks and only this one that feels right :) I am sure you will find it one day.

I took some more images later with the same sort of lay out and a little tweaking but I really don't like them as much as this one...
